A type specimen book that examines Bembo as a foundational typeface in the history of typography, drawing a parallel to the four classical elements—earth, air, fire, and water—which have long been understood as the foundational components of the natural world. Both Bembo and the elements serve as lasting structures that shape systems of form, balance, and meaning. The project is also inspired by the fluidity and expressive strokes of Chinese calligraphy, adding a sense of movement and contrast to the classical forms.
