UMIAMI UBS x NPHC Thump Recap

This recap highlights Thump, an annual event hosted by United Black Students (UBS) and the National Pan-Hellenic Council (NPHC), which represents the “Divine Nine” historically Black fraternities and sororities. I captured the energy of step performances, the excitement of the crowd, and the pride that comes with celebrating Black culture on campus. A personal project that blended my filmmaking style with a community I’m proud to be part of.
Pink Matter

As the sole creator, I conceptualized and animated this visual interpretation of Frank Ocean's 'Pink Matter.' Utilizing Adobe After Effects and Illustrator, I aimed to mirror the song's introspective tone through surreal visuals and fluid motion. This project challenged me to translate complex emotions into abstract storytelling, enhancing my skills in visual narrative and animation.

I designed characters and environments in Adobe Illustrator and animated the project in Adobe After Effects.
This piece was conceptualized for the Mirrors of the Infinite Student Art Exhibition, focusing on human connection through the prisms of Spirit, Others, and Self.
The animation uses grayscale-to-color transitions to represent emotional transformation, with a palette of red, blue, pink, and yellow to symbolize passion, peace, compassion, and happiness.
